To reduce property taxes to a lesser...fairer...and more reasonable level than are now being paid by the taxpayers of the State of Washington.

Property taxes have been...are...and will continue to be the result of excessive and unwarranted assessment and evaluation, tax rates and procedures.  They are confiscatory, burdensome, and heavy-handed to homeowners, renters, and businesses alike.

Because elected officials will not take action to reduce property taxes The League of Washington Taxpayers will use the initiative process to do so.  This will give control and affordability to the taxpayers where it belongs.  Rightful priorities will then occur for all government services at State, County, City, and taxing districts with changes that will be made in the state constitution. Property taxes will be approved by a 60 percent vote of the voters, after the proposed taxing plan has been presented to the taxing entity involved. Changes in taxing methodology will then establish sensible property tax costs to the people of our state.
